Sometimes we need to leave our wonderful Puget Sound for fun and sun, and to cultivate our appreciation of home!
A trip to the Cave B Winery and Sage Cliff Resort on the Columbia River in Eastern Washington seemed like a wonderful idea. It was an enjoyable drive over Snoqualmie Pass with a stop over in Ellensburg. Of course the wind turbines are always interesting to observe and the Ellensburg Visitors Bureau had information regarding tours of the Wild Horse Wind Power Project. Gossip has it that even more turbines are scheduled for construction in the future. I believe that would be a good tour to schedule in the future, especially for children.
And now on to the Cave B Inn and Cave B Winery!
The welcome mat at the Cave B Inn is completely coordinated with all of their decor – natural basalt.
A view of the Inn from one of the vineyards. Their vineyards literally wind through the whole resort, even down the walking paths.
Inside the resort is just as gorgeous and natural as the outside and designed for protection from the summer heat.
The cliffehouses are designed for warmth and coolness, are truly luxurious, and best of all, are dog friendly!
They have a collection of yurts with slightly less expensive rates. No dogs in the yurts though!
The Cave B Inn and Cave B Winery are combined and it is a treat to walk right over for a wine tasting.
Ah yes, a delightful way to experience a spring afternoon……..
