We attended a gallery opening for our friend Mark Gsellman at ChocMo March 22nd. What a great cozy place for treats and drinks! If you haven’t stopped by and checked out this place – we highly recommend it! The staff is nice and the atmosphere is great. Inviting, smells like chocolate, complete with rotating artwork gallery lining the walls. And there’s chocolate. And Guinness. Continue reading Gallery at ChocMo

Calvary Apple – an apple with the 3 crosses from the crucifixion on it
By now we are all familiar with the Jesus toast. The toast that popped up with Jesus’s likeness burnt into it. Turns out there are a ton of Jesus and sightings including a Cheetos and Citrus Jesus.
Well the other day I grabbed and apple to eat, cause that is what I do, I eat apples and whamo – right there in the apple skin are the 3 crosses from Calvary.

January 2012 – Winter in Kitsap County
January’s snow storm provided a wonderful sledding hill on the road going to the Jefferson Beach Fishing Pier near Kingston Wa. The sledders were flying down as soon as the road became packed enough for the sleds. Since the road curves and is a good distance from start to finish it was an exhilarating experience for sledders of all ages including moms, dads, kids, and even grandpas. Approximately 6 inches of snow was received in a day long burst of winter weather making a winter wonder land for everyone to enjoy. People seemed to be out all day taking walks, sledding, visiting neighbors, and sharing food. Chili, fresh baked corn bread and hot chocolate were enjoyed in our neighborhood, especially by the youngsters who worked up enormous appetites dragging their sleds up the hills. Our local children slept especially well that night.
Snowpocalypse – Winter Storm 2012
The white splendor was upon us last week – good for some, not so good for others. But all-in-all if you have kiddos, (or cross country skis) it was fun! It was noted that a hot sledding location for winter frolicking is right nearby – Snow Horse! (local golf course in other seasons). It is a bowl so lots of fun and roller-coaster-like sledding. Not a far walk from Indianola on the trail that runs along the golf course and not quite as speedy as Killer Hill.
Speaking of Killer Hill – three locals had the eternally cool (and fast!) Radio Flyer metal railed sleds. The REAL DEAL! They flew down the hill – the kids were so impressed!
School was out, for many, so was work. So off we went to play in the frozen world. Power stayed on – hallelujah! Which made playing in the snow all the more fun with a chance to go inside, warm up and have some cocoa. We don’t get it too bad nor often – hope you all had a chance to play!
