Our Post has participated in many events this year. We have a growing number of members on the Internet and have recently had server space donated by the people at www.kitsapnow.com for our site. We're working on having more information for our on-line members as well as hard copies available for those who are not.
- March 16th, 2000 Post 245 recognizes Officer Stacey Smaaladen, of the Poulsbo Police Department, with a Certificate of Recognition for outstanding service. Certificate presented by Department of Washington Law & Order chair Bob Mulligan.
- May 18,19,20th, 2000 Volunteers collect donations for poppies outside Poulsbo Albertsons and Central Market groceries. Thanks for all who supported our efforts and to those people who donated for the cause.
- Memorial Day weekend 2000 Volunteers decorate graves of Veterans in local cemeteries as well as attending several Memorial Services honoring our fallen comrades.
- July 4th, 2000 Kingston Fourth of July parade. The float designed by Dan Poisson won an award for most patriotic. A good time was had by all! Click on the picture below for a larger view. We'll have more pictures up soon.
- July 8th, 2000 Picnic and flag disposal at Raab Park in Poulsbo. It was well attended and well covered by the Bremerton Sun. Special Thanks to the Home Town band and all the others that participated.
- November 4, 2000 Third District Fall Conference at Poulsbo Post 245 was well attended. Distinguished guests were: Ladies Auxiliary National President Kris West, ALA Department President Janet Easley, ALA-NEC Woman Sue Patterson, Washington American Legion Department Commander George LaPold Jr., Past Commander Jim Angell, Area I Vice Cdr Dolores Ziegler and Mayor Don Jean Bruce of Poulsbo. The Post 245 Ladies Auxiliary were presented with their Charter that evening. A filling dinner was catered by Ellen's Cakes & Catering followed by the business meeting chaired by Third District Commander Roth Hafer.
- November 11, 2000 Veterans Day- Flags were placed on the graves of veterans of all wars at Kingston, Suquamish and Tracyton cemeteries by Post 245 members John Portanova and Dan Poissan.
