All members of American Legion Post 245:
The existing Bylaws are those approved in April
2002. They have never
been revised.
Washington Department has made numerous organizational and operational
changes over the past seven years that are not reflected in the
bylaws. The post has made numerous revisions to
organization and procedure that were never picked up in our
bylaws.
Because the existing bylaws were so out of date and because of a need
to more properly organize the contents of the bylaws, a complete
revision was in order. While content of the existing
bylaws was used as reference there was no practical way to do a markup.
On
our American Legion Post 245’s internet web site is a copy of
our proposed update to the By-Laws. Please take a
moment to
read the file. At our monthly membership meeting at
the Post
Hall on February 18, 2010, we will vote to adopt these
By-Laws. Any comments or amendments to the proposed
By-Laws will be
brought to the floor at that time. If you wish to
comment electronically, please
provide that written comment to the Post’s Senior Vice
Commander,
John Zantek, via email to
John Zantek (john@zantek.net),
for inclusion at the February meeting.
